Use a small sponge roller or a rubber brayer to roll out a thin, even layer of paint in a plastic plate. Then get stamping!
I wrapped the presents in a combination of plain gold, silver, and kraft paper, then used my stamped wrapping paper to create decorative bands and sleeves. Other presents I wrapped entirely in the stamped paper, and still others in a bold copper and black stripe. Using a combination of solids and patterns and sticking to a unified colour palette keeps it from becoming too busy.
The really fun part was accessorising the presents using a variety of ribbons, twine and gift tags.
I decorated the gift tags simply with a cut-out of a stamped star.
Miniature wooden pegs are a cute way of holding gift tags in place.
The look is neutral and calming.
You can also layer your ribbons for extra effect. Here I used a narrow black ribbon over a broad hessian (burlap) ribbon.
